Baby & Children’s Nasal Health
When your little one has a blocked or stuffy nose, it can be really distressing – both for baby and for you. Nasal congestion can interfere with feeding and sleep, and it can make it difficult for your baby to breathe.
You can help your baby to feel more comfortable by using a gentle, non-medicated saline solution to clean and clear their nose of excess mucus. This helps to break down any mucus clogging their nasal passages, and also clears away any allergens.
By helping them breathe properly, your baby will enjoy better sleep and feeding
Little blockages in your baby’s nose
If your baby has a blocked or stuffy nose, it can be a problem because babies breathe through their nose, particularly during their precious first months. The medical term for this type of breathing is ‘obligate nasal breather’.
When their little nose is blocked, your baby can get distressed and uncomfortable. If your baby is breastfed and can’t breathe through their nose, then they can’t feed.
In most cases, the common cold is the culprit behind a blocked nose in babies. While there is no cure for a cold, you can make your baby feel more comfortable by helping them breathe easier while they recover. Plus, by helping them breathe properly, they will enjoy better sleep and feeding – which will both aid in recovery.
FESS Little Noses® Saline Drops or Spray can help clear stuffy noses by thinning the nasal mucus. Because it’s a very gentle, non-medicated saline solution, FESS Little Noses® can be used as often as your baby needs. Just a few drops or sprays will help thin and loosen excess mucus and the special aspirator (which is included) can help you clear away the blockage.
